Sizes & Style Notes

Longstaff Longstaff clothes are cut to have a loose, relaxed style, so choose your size depending on how you like your clothes to fit. Feel free to choose different sizes in tops and bottoms; few people are the same size in both areas!  Here are some notes on the fit that we hope will help you.

Camisole – Bias cut allows fabric to stretch and cling at the same time. We have added a centre back seam to accentuate the curve of one’s spine. It has adjustable straps and the hem finishes just on the hip.

Shorts – Designed to sit just below the waist, but they are not low cut. Short enough to be sexy, long enough that you won’t mind opening the front door.

Trousers – These full length trousers will just skim the floor when bare foot and like the shorts, they sit just below the waist.

Pyjama top – The traditional pyjama top has been made a little more flattering by slightly shortening the overall length and taking a little of the excess fabric away from the waist. Still loose fitting though.

Chemise – Bias cut allows fabric to stretch and cling at the same time. We have added a centre back seam to accentuate the curve of one’s spine. It has adjustable straps and the hem finishes a little above the knee.

Tunic – A very loose fitting top that could fit the size above the stated garment label. Sleeves come to the wrist and the hem finishes just below the hip.

Robe – The robe has approximately 30cm of overlap. Cross the two sides over so that the V is as low as you like it, but don’t be tempted to cross it over too far. This will pull the robe in all the wrong places and because of the wrap around closure it won’t fall open anyway! Sleeves are bracelet length, belt is attached.

The chart below shows the body measurements for bust, waist and hips for women who would wear dress sizes 8-14. Our sizing has been based on a 5’5″ woman (166cm) bust 34, waist 27, hips 36, wearing size Small.
